Cosmetic surgery should only be available to those people with serious physical disfigurements

Obviously, or at least aparently, the main reason to do cosmetic surgery to anyone should be for a serious physical disfigurements caused by birth or by a car accident, for instance. What is more, even though I don´t understand very well the mental mechanism, it could be necessary if there is a person who feels like a man, but has a woman body. We can add this case of sexual identity on our cosmetic surgery list. But are these the only cases? I think these are undeniable, anyway. 
Nevertheless it´s not a sin to change some imperfect parts of our body by surgery, although most of the times is not necessary. This means that it is not a question of life or death or an extreme case of ugliness, therefore shouldn´t be available in those cases through public health service. Furthermore there are other alternatives if you want to look more attractive as cosmetic products, spa therapy, sticking to a low fat diet, giving up smoking etc. In other words, being operated on should be your last option to make yourself beautiful than you think you are, because of the risks chiefly.
It´s a good idea to think about your real motivations deeply before doing it because your choice is made sometimes based on people´s opinion about us or the opinion we think other have about us. It might be not worth it in this case. So if your self-esteem is safe and high in any case and the plastic surgery is only a question of your own aesthetic taste it could be reasonable, but according to your tastes you must pay for it if you can afford it. 
To sum up cosmetic surgery sometimes is a necessity and sometimes is a method to see yourself or feel better. But if you have complexes you should go first to see a psychologist and only later to see a cosmetic surgeon. 

My life in 10 questions!

What would you normally be doing if you weren’t blogging right now?

I would have something for breakfast, I usually have one piece of fruit, any juice,  some nuts and if I have the enough time I prepare myself a toast covered with tomato and olive oil or with butter.

In moments of weakness, what do you turn to?

I turn to an episode of the TV series I follow nowadays, Fringe, to my fantastic friends, to meditation, to go out for a walk alone through Madrid to get a breath of fresh air, though polluted etc.

Describe the house you grew up in?

I´m still living in it so I´m still growing up. It´s a flat that at least I really like it because is very bright and well  ventilated. 

What did you want to be as a child?

 I wanted to be a doctor, a hairdresser, a vet, a teacher, a... I had a lot of ideas and that shows my personality, I´m a kind of versatile person. 

Name a book, song or film that changed your life. 

Only one? Imposible. I´m passionate of  Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin and some books of Terry Pratchet. I like Gandhi´s ones or Thoureau´s ones. Some comics too. About films it´s neverending list as well: The apartment, Blade Runner, The Dark Night, District 9, The goonies etc. 

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

 If others can, why you not?

What advice do you wish you’d received when you were younger?

One that I listened to three or four years ago: The only thing that never changes it´s that everything changes.

What one thing would you save if your house was on fire?

No doubt. The only treasure I have: my cat Copito. 

What were you like at school?

 I liked a lot to laugh with my friend Lorena.  We understood each other perfectly and she is still one of my best friends.

If you could meet anyone from history who would it be and what would you ask them?

Galileo, Gandhi, Thoureau, Marx...someone that manage to get and follow his own ideas even against of the ideas of his period, an open-minded person who can imagine and accept other differents things. Someone who was called mad for the others in his time.
  

Carne Cruda

I suggest you listen to Carne Cruda in Radio 3. It´s an interesting radio programme about different issues, with interviews and good music. The host is very lively and sarcastic. The broadcast is from Monday to Friday, from 14 to 15 p.m. Today the guest has been José A. Pérez who has writen the prelude of a comic called Españistán. There is a video on you tube about it as well and both explain the causes of the Spanish crisis. in a simple way. I really recommend you visit the page on you tube and listen to this programme. You can fin the podcast on rtve page (the date of broadcast is 13rd of September).
